Vacancy Department: Finance

We are looking for a Head of Finance to join the ICR team based in Aberdeen.


The Head of Finance position will join our leadership team and will strive to apply the highest standards of leadership, management and coordination of the Finance & Procurement Teams, along with IT external partners.

This role will be responsible for ensuring effective management and coordination of financial reporting, including coordination of periodic forecast, budget, cash flow management, budget and strategy initiatives across the Group. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

The main tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Part of the ICR Leadership Team, reporting to the CFO.
  • Management of Finance team, consisting of 9 personnel including, Financial Controller, 2-3 Chartered Accountants, Assistant Accountant, Payroll Coordinator, Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger
  • Coordinator and Accounts Receivable Coordinator.
  • Management of Procurement team consisting of 6, including Supply Chain Manager, Buyer, Junior Buyer, Travel Coordinator, Facilities Coordinator and Logistics Coordinator.
  • Responsible for the Finance function across all ICR Global locations, including UK Norway, Americas, Middle East, Australia.
  • Lead preparations of the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecast for the Group and within the timeline expected.
  • Management of external audit process.
  • Oversee Global tax compliance (including UK, USA, Iraq, Norway, Oman) with advisors.
  • Cash flow/Treasury oversight.
  • Preparation of monthly board pack with CFO and leadership team.
  • Manage the month-end process with the business to deliver accurate and robust detail in accrued income and direct cost accruals.
  • Manage all financial processes and provide support to commercial and operations for goal attainment.
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly forecast.
  • Responsibility for treasury and liquidity management.
  • Submission of bank MI and covenant compliance documentation.
  • Preparation of annual budget in conjunction with business planning process.
  • Responsibility for business systems including ERP (SAP B1).
  • Delivery of IT strategy including management of IT business partners and SAP Business 1 upgrade.
  • Business improvements including process standardisation and efficiency focus, including financial reporting improvement process along with the CFO.
  • Responsibility for annual insurance renewal.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various sites and international locations as required.

Key Skills, Attributes and Experience:

  • Chartered accountant or equivalent professional accountancy qualification with 8+ years PQE
  • Industry experience in a finance leadership role
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex financial detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Partnering approach with business leaders
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience of SAP Business 1 preferred
  • Experience of due diligence process preferred but not essential
