We are looking for a HSSEQ Advisor to join the ICR team based in Carnforth.

The HSSEQ Advisor will work to deliver and provide professional advice, guidance, and support to the ICR Group with regard to the implementation of, and adherence to Group HSSEQ lans. Work activities will be in line with legal requirements in areas where we work and in line with Group Policy.

This role will report to the Head of HSSEQ.

The main tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Specific HSSEQ support for BAE Contract in line with agreed ICR/BAE SHE Plan.
  • Implementation and delivery of Group HSSEQ Improvement Plan.
  • Work with Operations to deliver improvements in workshop HSSEQ.
  • Maintain ICR’s Business Management System (BMS) and 1Net Incident Reporting Database.
  • Investigate and identify root cause following HSSE incidents and quality related NCRs.
  • Monitor and maintain legal compliance registers across the Group.
  • Maintain and implement the Group HSSEQ audit programme, undertake audits as required and facilitate external audits by clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Support Operations by travelling to and attending client land or offsite locations where ICR
  • Technicians and sub-contractors are working. Perform Audits and Site Inspections at these sites as well as travel to other ICR Facilities in support of the HSSEQ Audit Plan.
  • Monitor and maintain focus alongside Operations on HSSEQ compliance.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Operations to ensure compliance with legal requirements. e.g., PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, PPE, Manual Handling, etc.
  • Promote ICR’s core values, safety culture and continuous improvement philosophies.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and deliver as required monthly safety meeting presentations.
  • Coordinate and deliver as required safety themes and HSSEQ inductions.
  • Develop, review, and approve new and existing HSSEQ procedures as required.
  • Support the Commercial and Procurement Teams regarding tenders, proposals, client evaluations, client portal updates and supplier approvals (Vendorse).
  • Provide supporting coverage for Head of HSSEQ during holidays, absences, and travel.
  • Other related activities as may be deemed necessary from time to time.

Key Skills, Attributes and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar relevant role (Essential).
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health, Safety and/or Environment (Essential).
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environment (Preferred).
  • Internal Auditor qualification(s) to ISO 9001, 14001 and/or 45001 (Essential).
  • Lead Auditor qualification(s) to ISO 9001, 14001 and/or 45001 (Preferred).
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualification to ISO 17020 (Preferred).
  • Experience in HSSEQ Management Systems e.g., SharePoint, Sypol, Safetyhub (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of the oil & gas, power, defence, process infrastructure and/or nuclear industries (Preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible – able to work on multitask work and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong sense of initiative, always striving for improvement.
  • Organised and efficient – plan work to ensure deadlines are met on time.
  • Good attention to detail.

The Technician/Machinist will carry out machining activities in the ICR Carnforth workshop to support the undertaking of safe systems and work relevant to the operational requirement of On-Site Machining, together with carrying out On-Site Bolting.

This role will report to the Workshop Supervisor.

  • To be competent in aspects of maintenance and testing of On-Site Machining and Hydraulic Bolt Tensioning equipment.
  • To comply and adhere to role as per ICR Training and Competency Framework ICR-BMS-01-HR-PRO-062.
  • Carry out the operation of all workshop machine tools in ICR Carnforth facility, this is to provide machining cover for all business units in ICR, this shall include the manufacture of jigs, fixtures, and components.
  • Ability to look at potential scopes of work, to prepare equipment and manufacture any necessary modifications.
  • Assist with pro-active breakdown-repairs / maintenance of portable machines in the support of site operations.
  • To support with maintenance and testing of On-Site Machining and Hydraulic Bolt Tensioning equipment.
  • Manufacturing / modifying equipment from CAD drawings.
  • Completion of all record sheets in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure good, safe working practices in the workshop are maintained at all times with compliance to the Company’s HSE policies.
  • Responsible for all QA/QC checks on all product and service lines are carried out as per job requirements where necessary.
  • Assist with inventory and ensure all minimum/maximum levels are maintained.
  • Assist with organising general workshop machining and assisting with general workshop tasks if workload demand.
  • Provide weekly updates to Workshop Supervisor / Operations Manager / Business Manager on all activities.
  • Maintain records in accordance with internal quality systems, procedures.
  • From time to time it may be necessary for employees to carry out other relevant tasks and duties to contribute towards achieving total customer satisfaction and improving the operational effectiveness of the Company.
  • Suitable training / skill level to operate the workshop machine.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings
  • IT skills: Microsoft Word and Excel (minimum) and SAP (preferably).
  • Mechanical time served apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications and experience in mechanical/ engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a mechanical/ fitter background.
  • Good organisation skills;
  • Good report writing skills;
  • Ability to adhere to quality management systems and internal processes e.g. ITP.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and self-manage own workload and those of others;
  • Sets high standards in quality of work with attention to detail;
  • Flexibility and the willingness to contribute to new ideas and processes is a must.
