Workshop Technician

We are looking for a full time Workshop Technician to join the ICR team in Carnforth.

The Workshop Technician will participate in workshop activities at our UK Onshore facility in Carnforth Lancashire. The role will support all the services that are carried out at the facility to fulfil customer requirements. This will include but is not limited to, repair and maintenance of all service equipment, stock control, assisting with the manufacture / testing of equipment and general support for all service lines carried out at the facility. This will also include the application of HSEQ controls, full QA/QC of all product and service lines prior to dispatch and ensuring any work is carried out within specified time periods. The Workshop Technician will report to the Workshop Supervisor.

The main tasks involved in the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • To carry out planned and “as required” maintenance and testing of equipment, as the business need arises.
  • Assist with QA/QC checks on all product and service lines that are carried out as per job requirements where necessary, but in line with ICR requirements.
  • Assist with inventory and ensure all minimum/maximum levels are agreed with the Business Managers and are continuously in stock.
  • Assist with organising general workshop tasks if workload demands.
  • Assist with maintenance and continual improvement of company asset registers and trackers.
  • Assist with ensuring that the Workshop, and Training Areas are adequately maintained, organised and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Pack and arrange delivery of equipment for work scopes.
  • Test and certify equipment for mobilisation.
  • Ensure toolbox talks and risk assessments are attended / carried out and signed off in-line with any testing.
  • Carry out routine stock takes of all stock equipment, including tooling, consumables and materials.
  • Ensure that the interface between the operations teams in both Aberdeen and Carnforth is maintained and deliverables are achieved to requirements.
  • Assist with process improvement ideas with regards the Service Realisation and other processes.
  • Maintain records in accordance with internal quality systems, procedures and ISO 9001.
  • Comply with the Company Quality and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Ensure good, safe working practices in the workshop are maintained at all times with compliance to the Company’s HSE policies.

To undertake all workshop activities in compliance with ICR procedures.
To ensure the workshop is run in an efficient, safe manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Highest quality outputs to be achieved with minimal NCR’s reported – focus on delivery and quality each and every time.
All warehouse operations in compliance with Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and procedures and in accordance with legal obligations.

Key Skills, Attributes and Experience

  • Mechanical Apprenticeship – Desirable
  • Experienced Mechanical Background
  • Knowledge of safe working practices including, but not limited to goods in and out
  • IT skills: Microsoft Word and Excel (minimum) and SAP (preferably)
  • Ability to work using own initiative (with minimal supervision)
  • Driven and goal orientated
  • Well organised and methodical
  • Personable, confident, extremely professional and in possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
