NDT Inspection Technician

INSONO™ Composite Inspection

This is a field-based role, which will require regular offshore and international travel, based out of Aberdeen.    

The NDT Inspection Technician will be responsible for undertaking Composite inspections through the application of the Company’s Insono™ Technology to provide the highest standard of service, in line with customer requirements and ICR procedures, whilst contributing to the successful, smooth and timely delivery of all Composite inspection contracts and orders for ICR.

This role will report to the Group Director. 

The main tasks include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for the planning and completion of Composite inspection projects by organising equipment, site requirements & client liaison
To carry out Composite inspections both onshore and offshore for the Insono business unit with overall responsibility to ensure inspection activities are carried out in accordance with ISO 17020:2012 and other applicable standards. 
Issue, review and approval of inspection and NDT reports, checking for accuracy and quality of submitted reports prior to issue to client.
The NDT Technician shall ensure that clear and concise reports are generated in a timely manner for any inspection work undertaken. 
Support the profitable delivery of Composite inspection activities, in line with the Insono Strategic Business Plan.
To ensure the effective delivery of all inspection activities of ICR’s composite Business Units. 
Responsible for carrying out and reporting result of inspection work scopes.
Assist the Senior Inspection Engineer with client project, including, costing, tendering and estimates. 
Support the integration of Composite Inspection Technology into the business for ICR.
Assist with the completion and issue of ‘Final Report’ to the client, following all Composite inspection work scopes. 
Conduct pre-mob and de-mob briefings on various projects, as required. 
Conduct toolbox talks and undertake risk assessments, as required and in line with ICR and client HSEQ policies and practices. 
Ensure all work is carried out in line with ICR engineering processes & procedures, which supports the business accreditation and verification of new technology from third party institutions. 
Maintains full competency of Inspection of Composite repairs using Insono technology.
Support internal training and competency of personnel to support the delivery of our client requirement and overall business objectives.
Must have willingness to travel and work from various offshore/UK and overseas locations;
Support the overall education and presentation of Insono business unit capabilities and processes to both internal and external audiences.

Key Skills, Attributes and Experience:

MIST/BOSIET/Offshore survival and medical
Flexibility and ability to mobilise for regular travel
Minimum ONC/NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering or Science related subject
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering discipline or inspection environment, of which at least one year spent working an inspection of pressure systems
Previous experience in a similar composite inspection environment
Authorised as a UKAS RG2 Category 3 Inspection Engineer
Excellent reporting skills with good commercial awareness
Good communication and IT skills
Suitable knowledge and understanding of ISO /IEC 17020:2012
