With almost 9 years experience in the industry, Sky-Futures was one of the first companies to bring drone technology to the oil and gas inspection market. We now have more than 65 customers in over 28 countries and have built up a wealth of experience both onshore and offshore.
With operations in the UK, USA, Europe, Africa, Middle East, South East Asia and APAC, we understand the regulatory and logistical processes to ensure we can operate drone technology for our customers.
EXTERNAL INSPECTIONS
We offer a range of different drone technologies including GVI and CVI inspections of all topside structures (including live flares) as well as the splash zone and under deck. We can provide inspections to production platforms, NUIs, drilling rigs, FPSOs etc.
CONFINED SPACE INSPECTIONS
The use of drone technology for confined space inspections is one of our fastest growing markets. The drone allows our teams to inspect storage tanks, COT tanks and other spaces without human entry whilst still getting high quality and accurate data.
DRONE, DRONE SENSORS AND DATA
The drones we operate are proven, robust and reliable. They are high wind capable and have multiple redundancy built in. They are not intrinsically safe so we operate to a hot or sparks potential permit.
The standard sensors we carry on our drones are High Definition (HD) cameras and HD video cameras. We also carry thermal cameras to look for heat abnormalities. As well as capturing imagery and videos, we can also build ‘As Is’ 3D models of assets using our cameras and specialist software.
INSPECTION REPORTING
A drone inspection team comprises a trained drone pilot and a camera operator who is a qualified oil and gas inspection engineer. The inspector will provide immediate reporting to the customer where any significant or critical anomalies are identified. Full inspection reporting is delivered once the job is completed and via our Expanse reporting software. This cloud-based tool delivers reports in pdf, as a web-based report and in 3D.
Why Drones?
FASTER:
We are up to 85% faster than tradition inspection techniques
SAFER:
Don’t put people at risk unnecessarily. Much safer to use a robot than a human for inspections. Our drones can operate in winds up to 29 knots and provide a dynamic and responsive inspection capability.
COST EFFECTIVE:
On a like-for-like basis drones are also 85% more cost effective than traditional inspection techniques and we do not require the platform to be shut down. As only a 2 man team, we also take up fewer bed spaces.
