We are looking for a full-time Structural Composite Design Engineer to join the team in Aberdeen.
The Structural Composite Design Engineer will be Responsible for the design and compliance of ICR Structural Composite solutions, the management of technically challenging projects and assist the business in gaining further market acceptance and penetration of its products and processes.
The role reports to the Technical Authority.
The main tasks involved in the role are:
Responsible for closing technical sales with the client (proposal, work pack and purchase orders)
Responsible for identifying further sales opportunities during project execution
Composite piping and Structural engineering calculations
Composite piping and Structural engineering plans, design, and layout via CAD or FEA outputs
Composite piping and Structural project specifications
Composite piping and Structural engineering portion of project proposals when required
Composite piping and Structural engineering portion of project cost estimates when required
Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience
Coordinate work and assist other disciplines such as Sales, Operations and international hubs as required
Comply with internal ICR procedures
Assist in achieving key deliverables in research and development projects
Complete engineering designs and drawings within a reasonable time frame
Maintain and where possible, develop ICR’s capability, skills and knowledge within the discipline alongside the rest of the technical department.
Attend and participate in relevant meetings
Carry out special projects or duties as assigned by the Technical Manager
The successful application should have the following:
A degree in Engineering
Previous experience working in a composite engineering/design role
as requirednts ents the or the s of the companyng of clients accounts
History of working with ISO 24817, ASME PCC-2 article 4.1 or knowledge of other relevant international standards (such as DNV Codes) is preferable
Have knowledge of composite materials and the different processes involved in their manufacture
Knowledge of composite adhesion characteristics when bonded to steel would be an advantage
Excellent communication skills
Experience of using Microsoft Excel and CAD/Drawing and FEA packages
Ability to problem-solving and multi-tasking and working to tight deadlines
Strong report writing skills;
